Speaking to Hivisasa at the site, the residents say in a number of occasions they have sent information to Kenya Power and Lighting Company to replant the pole but in vain.

"We are living in fear. This is a disaster in waiting. If this pole falls being on the road and so many houses houses here, we will not save our people. Look, this is a four-phase which we hear is loaded with high voltage and too dangerous. Kenya's power should not wait until its too late," protested John Arama a resident.

"We cannot wait any longer. We are going to protest over this. We have called Kenya Power severally but Nobody seems to bother," added Mark Nyamanga.

The pole is close to a school and residents are concerned that once schools reopen, children might be in danger.

Responding to concerns, the Kisii Kenya Power and Lighting Company regional marketing manager Mangera Moronge assured that his officers will tour the site immediately to asses the situation.

"I have noted with a lot of concern. I promise it will be fixed as urgent as possible," he said in a message to the writer
