In the meeting held at the Sagana State lodge in Nyeri, bringing together politicians from the GEMA community, President Kenyatta called for unity.

According to Manyora, Uhuru made a major achievement by the mere fact that majority of the politicians heeded his invitation, including those who have been appearing opposed to him.

The Prof said this shows the region remains united, proving wrong those of the idea that the ongoing factional fights within the ruling Jubilee Party have divided the region.

"He succeeded by showing Kenyans that contrary to what people are saying, Mt Kenya is one and going forward to 2022, there will be one voice," he said on Saturday.

Speaking on his Take It or Leave It analysis channel, he observed that Uhuru made things better by avoiding the issues considered dangerous to the region at the moment.

He says that by avoiding to sell Raila and being neutral on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), Uhuru avoided offending anyone, resulting in the group leaving Sagana a happy lot.

According to him, Kenyans should now begin looking forward to a more united Mt Kenya community, which will heavily influence the outcome of the 2022 general elections.

"It was quite a masterstroke because going forward, the Mt Kenya people will be one and using that power and numbers, they are going to determine what happens in the future," he said.

Uhuru's critics have taken issue with his truce with Raila and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), also founded with Raila, suspecting that the former Premier is up to no good.

The group allied to Deputy President William Ruto, is of of the idea that Raila is using his closeness to Uhuru to wreck the party, and also attempt to sabotage Ruto's presidential bid.
