Hellen Kerubo was being accused of allegedly stabbing Dennis Onyancha several times on the night of September 21.

The court heard that the accused committed the offence at 'Hilton' in London estate within Nakuru Town West Constituency.

Standardmedia.co.ke reports that Kerubo was arrested on September 22 after the matter was reported at the police.

Prosecutor Faith Maalim told the court that the husband, Onyancha, is currently receiving treatment at Nakuru Level Five Hospital where he is in a critical condition and unconscious.

Prosecutor Maalim filed an application before Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Usui asking the court to detain the accused in police custody pending the next case hearing.

The prosecutor in her application further said that the accused should be held as the assault charges that she is facing might be enhanced.

Magistrate Usui granted the prosecution’s request and ordered that the accused be detained at Kaptembwa police station.

The case will be mentioned on September 27.
