The family of former Garissa Finance Executive Idriss Mukhtar who survived an attempted assassination is now appealing for financial help to settle medical bills.

Idriss family says that the medical bills are shooting up daily as he fights for his life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Nairobi Hospital.

According to the family, they are exhausting their financial stretch and are now appealing for help.

According to the former CEC father, Dr Aden Mukhtar, the medical bill is rising every day.

"We are running out of financial resources and we will be making a public appeal to Kenyans to help us,'' he said.

The family said that their lives have taken a different direction since Mukhtar survived an attempted assassination.

City laywer Charles Kanjama says that it is true that the medicall bills are going up daily.

Kanjama who is Mukhtar's family lawyer said that they will make an appeal to Kenyans to help.

Investigations into the mystery surrounding Mukhtar's attempted murder continues.

Two key suspects are in police custody over the attempted murder.

Last week, a key suspect, David Mwai, who confessed to having been paid and asked to kill Mukhtar alongside Kanjama died at Parklands police station.

Mwai was buried on Friday in Nakuru.

Detectives say they will unravel the mystery surrounding the attempted murder.

Garissa Governor Ali Korane is among people who have been quizzed by detectives in relation to the attempted murder.
