Yes, these four upcoming Gikuyu secular music artistes entered the Kikuyu music industry that for a long time has been dominated by heavyweights like John De'matthew, Kariuki Kiarutara, Kigia Wa Esther, Mburu Wa Wanja, Kamande Wa Kioi among many others.
These artistes have, however, managed to cut a niche for themselves in their short stint in the competitive Gikuyu music industry.

1. Samido
He is hardly 30 years old but his music that tells of real-life experiences appeals to both the young and the old.
Samido who claims his roots from Subukia, Nakuru County, prides in popular hits like 'Riari Itheru Ciru', 'Ihoya Ria Samido' among many others.
Samido is definitely a name to watch in the coming years.
2. Jose Gatutura
He shot to the limelight in the year 2014 when he released the much-acclaimed song 'Thie Ukiumaga' that received massive airplay especially in pubs and other entertainment joints in and outside Central Kenya region.
Gatutura has since released other popular hits and recently he inked an endorsement deal with a land selling company. His music star promises to continue shining brighter by day.
3. Eddie Gathenge
Gathenge is the artist behind the recently released popular song, 'Wanjiru Kihii' that tells the story of a wayward girl who no longer respects her parents. The girl dropped from college to venture into prostitution and doesn't even shy from smoking in front of her parents.
The song continues to enjoy massive airplay on Kikuyu media platforms and many entertainment joints. There is no doubt that the upcoming musician has many more years to tick in this industry.
4. Gathee Wa Njeri
Since his entry into Kikuyu secular music industry around the year 2013, Gathee has continued to release one popular hit after another which have won him enormous fanatical following.
He is regularly invited for live performances by various Kikuyu radio stations when going out for road shows. Gathee also performs in many entertainment joints, especially on weekends. The musician's fortunes can only change for better as time moves on.
