Muthama claimed that all the mainstream newspapers have been biased in covering the Ukambani region.

He said news coverage in Ukambani has been poor.

"Why should we buy newspapers that don't have news from Ukambani? All we see is that other regions did this and that, but news from Ukambani is killed or given late airtime. For instance, this news will be aired on Tuesday afternoon," Muthama said.

Muthama spoke at a burial in Matungulu, Machakos County on Monday.

He said other counties are given priority when it comes to news coverage while those from Ukambani never see the light of the day.

"If they don't change, I swear I will traverse the Kamba counties telling the residents to desist from buying those newspapers," he added.

Muthama claimed that televisions interview people who have no materials for hours and shut out others.

"Those people brought for interviewing speak incoherent things, you won't see Kambas being interviewed in national televisions," Muthama said.

He said only local radios have been fair in reporting news from Ukambani.
