Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has asked all county officials to have emails for efficient communication to ensure better service delivery to the residents.
Addressing over 7,000 Machakos County Government's employees at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos town on Monday, Mutua said his government is committed to ensuring that the residents benefit from devolution before he completes his final term in office.
The governor also warned county officials against looting public resources for their selfish gains as long as he remains in power.
He said the usage of emails is likely to make it easier for him to deliver on his promises as he seeks to leave behind a legacy.
“All county employees should also have email addresses as most of the communication between departments and staff will be digitized,” Mutua said.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader said he decided to join hands with his governors Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) for the electorate's best interests.
Mutua said there are plans to ensure that the Ukambani region has a bank for the locals to access financial services including access to cheap loans over the next years.
He said he is hopeful that youthful leaders will ensure there is better governance in 2022 if given the chance to lead.
