Friday’s handshake between Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula and his New Ford Kenya counterpart Eugene Walmalwa could be the onset of William Ruto’s strategic entry to Western Kenya region.

For over nine years now, the two leaders have been wrangling leaders to break away of the original party that at one point defined Kenya’s history.

While Mr. Wamalwa has been a little bit lucky by making right predictions, Wetangula on his part has not managed to succeed after his last two coalitions failing to capture the countries leadership.

“We have worked hard to bring these two together and this is an indication that nothing is impossible. We must look for a working strategy if at all we want to be in government,” said Rashid Achesa, Ruto’s close ally.

Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali added: “We are now targeting Musalia Mudavadi. The Luhya people will no longer make mistakes. We must be in the winning team.”

And the remarks by the two indicate behind scenes meddling by DP William Ruto, who is keen to inherit the vote rich region which has backed Raila Odinga for over a decade.

Wetangula now is likely to work with Ruto, who has been using Wamalwa to encroach the vote rich region which could play indispensable role in his 2022 bid.
