Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana hit headlines due to his exemplary development track records until when he launched attacks at former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
Kibwana should know that it is not time to announce who he will back in the next presidential race but to work for the people of his county.
He was earlier considered among the candidates who could garner millions of presidential votes.
Kibwana has, however, decided to join the league of those leaders who cannot stay quiet over anything.
He is likely to find himself home for good if he doesn’t tame his tongue.
The Wiper chairman is among the last people Kalonzo thought would scuttle the party.
Kibwana has surprised many by teaming up with governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) to dismantle Kalonzo’s plans ahead of the next elections.
If Kibwana is dreaming of rising higher than the governorship, he should direct his energy towards service delivery and not tongue-wagging.
He has been celebrated for transforming the health sector hence deserves credit for the same.
However, the kind of politics Kibwana has started engaging in could cost him dearly in case he has plans to contest for the presidency in 2022 polls.
The county boss should preach unity and not division among members of the Kamba nation.
