Speaking in Gem, Siaya County on Saturday, the Senate Minority Leader maintained that Raila deserves to become the nation's next president because of his sacrifices for the country.

He added that the opposition remains intact despite the massive exodus which has seen both Odinga and his running mate in the previous election Kalonzo Musyoka pledge cooperation with the government.

Coming at a time when a section of the nation has raised concerns that the move has killed the opposition, he argued that it is instead aimed at realising the initial push for constitutional reforms.

He urged all Kenyans to jump on board in ending impunity and the many unconstitutional factors that have been troubling the nation.

“Kenya must make the desired changes to realise reforms and end impunity,” he is quoted by the Nation.

Also present was Rarieda parliamentarian Otiende Amollo who maintained that he remains in the opposition despite the Uhuru-Odinga handshake.

He said that the team has no plans to abandon Kenyans and specifically the opposition supporters.

“I know some people are expressing fear that we have abandoned them. I assure you that I am preparing to go to court in defence of the victims of last year’s post-election violence,” he is quoted.

Raila reached a truce with Uhuru in March this year, before Kalonzo last week joined hands with the Head of State.
