Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has made has expressed his intention to adopt two children from Sunrise Children's Home in Kabarnet, Baringo County.
He spent the entire day with the children at the orphanage.
Through a Facebook post, Sudi said he was informed by his daughter Lynn Chelagat, about the existence of this orphanage when she read a heartbreaking story in the dailies about it.
"My daughter then appealed to me that we should make a visit to the children's home the soonest. Director Mary Sang hosted us today in the facility, I was really touched and inspired for her selfless role she has been playing in hosting kids," said the Kapseret MP.
He reiterated that upon inquiry, he learnt that the kids were rescued from different situations ranging from malnutrition, desertion by their parents, poverty, street families among other reasons.
"Having read the heartbreaking story of a one and half year old (sic) malnourished child, we decided as a family to express our intention to adopt the child together with her 3 and half year old (sic) sister," Sudi added.
He further said the orphanage accepted their proposal of adopting the two children.
Sudi said the facility is currently working on the necessary documentation to expedite the adoption process.
"I together with my family will try our best to raise the two kids with care and love," the vocal Jubilee MP said.
The Kapseret legislator further donated foodstuff, clothing and other necessities to cater to the needs of children.
He called on other well-wishers to offer their support.
