1. Avoid acidic meals

Acidic meals increase the level of acidity in your body. Avoid such meals such as alcohol, citrus fruits and highly spiced foods. 

2. Avoid big meals

Pregnant women are advised to go for small meals. Take time in chewing the food to help it be easily digested. 

3.  Avoid drinks when eating

Most people drink fluids while eating meals. Pregnant women should only take drinks after meals avoid building gas in their stomach that will force the food backwards. 

4. Don’t sleep immediately after meals

Always give yourself enough time after meals before sleeping. This will give digestion process enough time to break down all food article. 

5. Chew gum after meals

Gum after meals will help in secretion of a lot of saliva that will neutralize the acid. 

6. Lie your head on a pillow

When sleeping, using a pillow will help you head raise up a bit. This will help keep the acids in the stomach and limit them from flowing back to the throat. 

7. Avoid tight clothes

Pregnant women are always advised against tight clothes. Tight clothes will force acids to flow back into the throat by squeezing your stomach.
