Susan Njoki went missing on December 30 after she left work.

Her workmates said she last spoke while at Nairobi’s CBD heading to Ruiru.

Njoki’s family said they have been in a search mission since then until a call came from the city mortuary where her body is lying.

According to a family source who preferred anonymity, the body of Njoki was reportedly taken to the facility on December 31 by police and the cause of death indicated as being run over by a car.

How this happened is still unclear.

“Preliminary investigations say she was run over by a car. Where, when and how it happened is still not clear. We are at our lowest moment,” the family source said.

The late Njoki had spent the Christmas with her family in Njoro before she went back to the city on December 27 after being recalled back to her work place.

She was living in Ongata Ronga but on December 30 she was to board a matatu to Ruiru to a friend’s place where she wanted to get a house and shift.

Details remain scanty on who the friend is and whether she reached the friend’s house or not.

Her family in Njoro said it is devastated and only the truth about the death will wash away the pain.
