The suspect identified as Alex Ombulu arrived at Obunga earlier today where he visited St. Brigit’s Academy using a fake identity as a missionary of the Gideon International.

The suspect directed Annet Owala (the school's head teacher) to come up with a list containing the names of all pupils.

According to the head teacher, the suspect was supposed to make a supply of Bibles to all students for free.

“He came on our closing day and directed me to come up with a list of all pupils. He convinced me to add the names of teachers too so that we can have spare bibles. He then requested me to sign and stamp the list before he left," the head teacher told Victoria FM.

Little did Annet know that the list was to be used to con her, since the suspect tricked one of the local suppliers that he had been sent by the head teacher to collect some items for the listed pupils.

"One of the local suppliers called to confirm if I had sent the man. However, on smelling danger, the man escaped using his bicycle as the shopkeeper went after him," she added.

Angry residents chased the man and set him on fire.

He was, however, rescued by the patrolling police who took him away from the scene.
