The National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to corruption charges facing him.

Rotich together with his Principal Secretary Kamau Thuge among other government officials are facing up to 24 graft-related charges in connection to the multi-billion Kimwarer and Arror dam project. 

The case not only carries a huge weight but also is of great significance to the government as it involves holders of a crucial office. As such, some of the best and most experienced lawyers in the country have been brought together to defended the CS.

Among the defence lawyers is Kipchumba Murkomen who also doubles up as the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator. Murkomen attended the American University Washington College of Law where he graduated in 2017.

Second on the list is Katwa Kigen who is most remembered for representing broadcast Journalist Joshua Arap Sang at the ICC, Dennis Itumbi and former TV News anchor Jacque Maribe. 

Kioko Kilukumi who has actively participated in some of the biggest corruption scandals including; the Goldenberg, Anglo Leasing and Grand Regency scandals is also part of Rotich's defence lawyers.

Other lawyers as listed by the Standard Digital include Anami Mugo, Stephen Kimathi, Mahat Samane and Philip Nyachoti.
