Molo lawmaker Kimani Kuria has lashed out at his critics who recently filed a petition at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to have him recalled.
In their petition, the petitioners sought the MPs ouster on grounds that he violated chapter 6 of the constitution after appearing at a public function in Elburgon drunk on July 4.
The MP on Thursday said that he is ready to face the electorate once again, claiming that his development record would earn him another term.
“If they want me to seek fresh mandate from the residents, I’m ready. The same way Molo residents voted for me overwhelmingly is the same way they will do it again,” he said.
He wondered why his political rivals, whom he claims are the force behind the petitioners, have chosen to dwell on the issue even after he apologised for his misconduct.
The MP who apologised two days after appearing at an anti-illicit liquor function intoxicated says that this could be the latest plot being used to detail him.
"This is a plan to derail me from implementing my development plan for the residents. The petitioners are in a deep-sea fishing expedition that will not yield any fruit," he added.
He claimed that the signatures presented to IEBC by the petitioners are most likely fake.
