Nairobi Women representative Esther Passaris on Monday evening declared her support for the President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Passaris who has been out of the political scene for a while as she was receiving treatment in India had been asked by a social media on whether she will support Deputy President WIlliam Ruto's presidential bid.
The Nairobi women rep in her response claimed that she was in support of Raila and President Uhuru who united through the handshake deal that saw the birth of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Passaris who jetted into the country recently after the treatment has however not yet revealed on whether she will be joining the BBI campaigns or not.
"I am working with and for our President and my party leader @RailaOdinga and the people of our great Nation Kenya. I strongly believe in and support the joint vision for Kenya by both President Uhuru Kenyatta and The Right Hon Raila Odinga aka Baba," Passaris' tweet read.
The BBI report has seen Kenyan leaders get divided into two categories; the leaders who have sidelined themselves with both President Uhuru and Opposition leader Raila Odinga, and the other section of leaders who have sided with Deputy President William Ruto.
Ruto's allies recently made headlines when they made a U-turn to support the BBI report and vow to participate in the BBI campaigns wherever possible.
Depsite the change of heart by Ruto's supporters, the line that separates the supporters of the handshake and supporters of the Deputy President still remains clearly visible.
