ODM director of elections Junet Mohammed has claimed that Kilifi county will continue being an ODM territory even past 2022.
In a tweet on Saturday, Junet noted that the county was still an ODM 'backyard' and it would always be.
The Suna East MP further called on the government agencies entrusted with the responsibility of prosecuting and convicting criminals of electoral violence to swing into action by hunting down the killers of the Kilifi ODM supporter Ngumbao Jola.
Furthermore, the vocal MP opined that election-related violence in the country should not be tolerated.
"Kilifi County remains ODM backyard now, 2022 and beyond. We demand that those who perpetrated the heinous murder of Bwana Ngumbao Jola must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Political violence must end in our country," read the tweet.
Last week on Tuesday, Ngumbao Jola was shot dead at the home of the Ganda MCA-elect Reuben Katana in a scuffle between Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and ODM supporters as they prepared for a recently concluded by-election.
Aisha Jumwa was arrested in connection to the murder and has since been released on a cash bail of Sh500,000.
On Saturday, the ODM brigade attended the burial of the deceased, who is an uncle to the MCA-elect Reuben Katana.
