Several leaders among them Deputy President Wiliam Ruto have been advising farmers to consider planting other crops among them avocado even as maize farming is faced with a myriad of challenges.

Kutuny is however against the idea of quitting maize in favour of avocado.

Speaking on Saturday in his constituency, the Jubilee MP said that avocado fruits paralyse parts of the body including waist and kneecaps which perhaps curtail the manhood libido and subsequently there will be no procreation in Kenya.

“Mambo ya avocado, inaua kiuno na inaua tena huku magoti, nasema kweli mazee kama ovacado ikiua magoti na kiuno, tutaumia mazee na kenya itafungwa (On the issue of Avocado, it paralyses waist and patellars, truly you, if avocado kills patellar and waist Kenya will be finish),” Kutuny said when officially launching a football tournament.

He added that avocado takes a span of over five years to mature for a farmer to realize its profit and in the event of pumper harvest there will be no sophisticated storage facilities to keep large amount avocado fruits.

The sentiments come a few days after the MP led farmers to battle with national government rejecting recently approved Sh2,300 maize price and stashing a call of crop diversification.
