In an angry Facebook post, Miss Umar who is Duale's ex-lover said that she would rather be deported than register.

"CONALERT!! RESIST #HUDUMANAMBAISASCAM!! I AM READY TO BE DEPORTED.#MAMAWATAIFA, " she posted.

The controversial activist has called the registration exercise a scam.

She is one of the high-profile activist from northern Kenya who have railed against the exercise.

The government of Kenya says the registration exercise is informed by the need to streamline the delivery of services to the citizens.

Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i says that the registration exercise would not be extended as the government was not keen on incurring more costs.

The deadline is on Saturday.

Kenyans have been flocking to registration centres to beat the deadline.

The government says that tens of millions of Kenyans have already registered.

One requires an original identification card or passport, NHIF and NSSF numbers to be registered.

Citizens and non-citizens are eligible for registration.

The Jubilee administration has been keen on digitizing records of its operations in a bid to contain corruption that has long plagued how it delivers it's services.

Nazlin Umar, a self-described mother of the nation, is a strong critic of the government.
