Silas Jakakimba, a former aide to Raila Odinga has refuted claims that he was not deployed to Zimbabwe to oversee elections even as ODM distanced itself from him.
On Tuesday, ODM Chief Executive Oduor Ong'wen dismissed claims by Zimbabwean police that Jakakimba, who is being pursued for allegedly instigating post election chaos, was an agentg of Kenya's opposition leader Raila Odinga.
"Mr. Jakakimba is not an employee of ODM neither is he an aide or part of Odinga's Secretariat. He was in Harare on his own volation," read the statement.
During the chaos in which MDC's Nelson Chamisa claimed victory, over six people reportedly died after electoral commission pronounced President Emmerson Mnangagwa as the winner.
But on his Twitter, Jakakimba lashed at Ongwen as he suggestively maintained that he is an aide to Odinga thus probability of being sent by the veteran politician to Harare.
"Whereas am a life member of ODM, I have never worked for the party neither am I its employee. I do not answer to Oduor Ongwen.
"Oduor must know from today that Jakakimba is formally engaged at Raila's secretariat which has elaborate and efficient structures which has efficient and elaborate structures," he said.
Raila's relationship with MDC dates back during the times of former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai who died early this year.
Mnangagwa took over from Robert Mugabe through a silent coup after the strongman's 37 years in power.
