Raila himself does not spend most of his time there, preferring to stay in Nairobi from where he can carry on with both his political and business operations.

He has given the vast farm an image of his holiday destination, where he retreats to recharge his batteries and concentrate his next moves.

On most occasions which he has been seen there, the former Premier has given out the image of a farmer, on some occasions  emerging in shorts, gumboots and farming gear.

But what remains unknown is that the home is more of like a shrine where most Members of Parliament and Senators troop to to seek political aid and support from the political don.

For the past 17 years, the farm has played host to almost all lawmakers and hopefuls as they troop there to demonstrate their loyalty to Raila, reports a Daily Nation publication dated January 2014.

The home has also played host to some of Africa’s biggest names, including Ugandan Head of State Yoweri Museveni and his former Nigerian counterpart and Raila's long time ally Olesegun Obasanjo.
