Former Mukurwe-ini Member of Parliament Kabando Wa Kabando has taken a swipe at politicians allied to the Tanga Tanga faction over the 2022 succession debate.
Kabando, who is allied to Kieleweke group, mocked Tanga Tanga leaders telling them their campaign for Deputy President William Ruto has ended prematurely.
In a tweet on Sunday, the Local Authorities Provident Fund (LapFund) chairman said the pro-Ruto politicians have been silenced by the ongoing debate on the BBI report, which is expected to be handed over to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his 'handshake' partner Raila Odinga in a few days.
Kabando said campaign for Ruto's 2022 bid has also been stopped by the upcoming Kibra parliamentary by-election, which he opined ODM's candidate, Imran Okoth, was the front-runner.
"Uhuru Kenyatta’s enduring legacy will be graft crackdown and a united nation. Anticipated BBI report has completely engulfed Tanga Tanga “Ruto 2022” chorus. Cultism submerged by debate on BBI report. Amidst, Imran Okoth and the ODM party wave rising indomitably. Moment of truth," the former MP posted.
In a thinly veiled attack on Tanga Tanga, city lawyer Donald Kipkorir also hit out at the Ruto group for their apparent opposition to the handshake and the BBI report.
"To achieve his Big 4 Agenda and end corruption, President Uhuru Kenyatta entered into handshake with his brother H. E Raila Odinga and both established BBI ....So, to criticize the handshake and BBI and still claim loyalty and friendship to Uhuru Kenyatta is utter falsehood," Kipkorir tweeted on Sunday.
