Speaking to the Standard on Wednesday, Sharon's mother Melida Auma said that the family seeks to raise 1.3 million shillings for the burial ceremony.

The remainder, she said, will cater for the three children Sharon left behind after her death early last month.

She further raised alarm that the family is yet to get any support with regards to the same, and is set to hold a fundraiser on October 14.

However, the family is most likely to get a helping hand from the Rongo University where Sharon was doing her diploma in Medical Records.

Sharing in the loss of one of their own, her fellow students, lecturers and staff will most likely jump in to offer their assistance to the bereaved family.

Also likely to aid in the raising of the huge amount of money is the Homa Bay County government.

Despite hailing from Magare Village in the county, the body of the slain beauty was also dumped in a thicket near Oyugis Town, in the very same region, making the county administration an interested party.

With the issue having attracted national attention, both local and national politicians led by area Governor Cyprian Awiti are expected to flood the fundraiser to condole with the family.

They too are expected to bring with them a token of their pain for the loss of the promising young lady.

Further, they are also likely to get other funds from well wishers, villagers and local organizations.
