The Head of State has since kicked off an anti-graft campaign as he seeks to leave a graft-free Kenya legacy as he heads for retirement in 2022.

In an interview with members of the press from the Mombasa state house Friday night, Uhuru warned his Cabinet Ministers against involvement in corrupt activities.

He reminded than that they are in office to serve the Kenyan citizen and not to enrich themselves or their friends and relatives.

"I will keep reminding them and all Kenyans given an opportunity to occupy state offices that they they are in office not to benefit themselves but to serve and better the lives of Kenyans," he said.

This comes at a time when the fight seems to have been reenergised, the nation witnessing an increase in arrests of corruption suspects, mostly on Fridays.

Uhuru said that the executive is working closely with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation towards achieving the same.

"As executive we are working with the relevant bodies for better results. We have financed and empowered them to better their abilities to help in the fight," affirmed Uhuru.
