4 terror suspects have been arrested as they reportedly tried to access a military base in Nanyuki.
Law enforcement officers say the attempt to breach the walls of the base were made on Sunday, but were unsuccessful.
Reports indicate that the suspects' movements were capture by CCTV cameras installed at the high security facility.
“Later in the day as the chief Nanyuki town and security officers were following up leads they found them near Nanyuki police station, where they arrested them and called the OCS who acted immediately and booked in vide OB 35/5/1/2019,” a police report read in part as quoted by Citizen.
The revelation comes barely a day after suspected Al-Shabaab militants attacked a military base in Manda, Lamu County shared by United States of America and Kenyan forces.
Reports indicate that three Americans died in the Manda attack.
Last week, a bus was attacked in Lamu by suspected Al-Shabaab militants, leaving three people dead.
Kenya remains on high alert as it continues to wage war on the Somalia-based terror organisation, that has been responsible for deadly attacks in the country.
