1. Work oriented
These type is composed of those mothers who look for jobs or have been employed in various places. It ranges from the ladies who do odd jobs to those who work in the white collar sector. The best part about this group is everyone's objective is to get a decent source of income that can support the family and cater for basic needs.
2. Business ladies
As the name says, these category contains mothers who have started their own businesses. It can be either a simple 'mama mboga' stand or a salon. The income earned from the businesses is usually the main source of income.
3. 'Sponsors' category
This type majorly has single mothers who entirely depend on men or 'boyfriends' to cater for their needs and those of their children. Each man in these ladies life has a responsibility assigned to him. 'John' pays school fees, 'Juma' pays rent and 'Andrew' buys food.
4. Sex workers
Due to lack of good employment opportunities, some single mothers turn to prostitution as a way of earning a living.
