A visibly agitated President Uhuru Kenyatta fired back at Deputy President William Ruto's allies for the second time as the fight against graft intensified.
In previous outings, a second of MPs from Rift Valley led by Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi have openly linked the fight against graft as a wider plot to block Ruto's 2022 bid.
"If this lifestyle is something to believe, then he must start with his father before coming to Ruto. If that doesn't happen, then that's just witch-hunt," Sudi had said.
Also blaming Uhuru's team for witch-hunt is Kipchumba Murkomen and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei.
While in his Washington DC trip, Uhuru said he's ready to have his family audited and would on Friday insist that the ongoing crackdown has nothing to do with blocking someone's interest.
“No one is being targeted and we will not be distracted by those politicising the fight. Even if you are my sister, brother or mother, you will not be spared. If you are innocent, let us see that in court,” the President said on Friday.
He said that Kenyans should not sympathize with those involved adding that they 'did not share the loot' with them.
Further, Uhuru warned that senior departmental managers should take responsibility in case of questions about financial impropriety.
“If your junior is corrupt, it means you are also corrupt and negligent. If you cannot fight corruption in your organisation, there are Kenyans who can take up that job,” Mr Kenyatta said.
The DP's camp has been accusing unnamed senior officials in Office of the President for allegedly hiding in graft war to torment him.
