Ahead of the much publicized visit of Presidents; Uhuru Kenyatta and John Pombe Magufuli to Nyanza next week, Suba South MP John Mbadi has fired a warning shot at his fellow politicians from the region against using the event to settle local political scores as it has been witnessed in the past.
The event will also be attended by ODM leader Raila Odinga who together with Uhuru will host Tanzanian President, Magufuli.
"We have a raft of regional issues affecting residents of the region. We shall discuss them with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga before the day of the event...Mr Odinga does not expect local matters to arise as he and President Kenyatta will be hosting President Magufuli," Mbadi who is also National Assembly Minority leader was quoted by Nation.
The visit by President Kenyatta to Nyanza will be his first tour of the region since his re-election in 2017 where he floored Odinga, and since his famous handshake with the former Prime Minister in March.
The handshake is aimed at uniting the country after the divisive 2017 poll and the subsequent Court contests.
