A Gusii based Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party politician has supported the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s decision to warn Deputy President William Ruto against early 2022 politics.
Samuel Omwando said Raila is a father of democracy and his warnings should not be taken lightly.
“Raila believes in democracy and it is advisable for politicians such as DP Ruto to take in his warnings seriously. I fully support Raila’s move to warn Ruto is campaigning instead of helping his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta to serve Kenyans,” he said.
The vocal politician argued that Ruto’s presidential bid will not sail through due to his involvement in corruption.
“Ruto is doing early campaigns because he knows he will have hard times in 2022,” said Omwando.
Omwando who vied unsuccessfully for the Kitutu Chache South on an ODM party ticket during the last year’s polls reiterated that Raila is not interested to make Jubilee collapse ahead of the 2022 elections.
“Raila joined Jubilee government for the sake of bringing peace in this country. Those claiming that he wants to make Jubilee party collapse and bar DP Ruto from vying for Presidency are leaders who have panicked,” he stated.
