Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has said that the Jubilee Party will not last to see 2022.
Speaking on Wednesday on JKL, Mutula noted that the party's interest that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto fold smaller parties into one was to get into power.
"Not at all, let’s just be honest, they are not going to last. It’s clear that the only thing they wanted to do is get into power, They got into power and got confused and you can't blame them because even the original NARC got confused once it was in power," he said.
The Wiper legislator observed that by the time the report about the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is out, the coalition will be no more.
This, he said, was because members of the ruling party are talking differently and it's only a matter of time before they split.
"What they are doing now is no longer 'Tuko Pamoja, it's 'Tunavumiliana tu' because there is no other way," noted Mutula Jnr.
However, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja who was also in the interview refuted dismissed predictions of Jubile split but went on to admit that the party was 'ailing'.
"I can't be in denial, the party is not dead but it's ailing and it can be treated and rejuvenated," said Sakaja.
"Many of us who have been involved in building political institutions are willing to revamp it. When we came together and said 'Tuko pamoja' we meant it, we wanted to create a party for the future" he added.
