Former commissioner at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Roslyn Akombe has revisited the death of Chris Msando.
At the time of his death, Msando was the Information and Communication Technology manager at the electoral agency.
Akombe now says that he could have been murdered because of the August 8, 2017, general election.
Msando, who was in charge of computerised voting system for presidential elections, was brutally killed a few days to the polls which were later nullified by the Supreme Court.
In her message on Msando's posthumous birthday on Saturday, Akombe alleged her colleague was murdered due to his determination to ensure the integrity of the elections were maintained.
"He should have turned 47 today. He should have been celebrating with his children and wife. Ready for the New Year celebrations. And a new school year for his kids. But he sought to protect the integrity of our elections. And for that he was silenced. #RIPChrisMsando," Akombe tweeted on Saturday.
According to post-mortem examination conducted by chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor, Msando was strangled to death before his body was dumped at Muguga Forest in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.
“He died from strangulation and he also had incisions on his right arm, but the rest of the body was intact," Odour revealed in an autopsy report.
Msando's lifeless body was discovered next to the corpse of a 21-year-old Carol Ngumbu, who had just completed her studies at the Kenya Medical Training College, Karen campus.
Hitherto, no one has ever been charged over the murder of the duo.
