On Monday, Maribe and her fiance Joseph Irungu pleaded not guilty and were subsequently remanded until Wednesday.

Affidavits sworn by lead investigators claim that should Maribe get bail, she is likely to interfere with investigations due to her 'strong influence in political cycles and media fields'.

Further, prosecution argues, lead detectives are still conducting search in Maribe's Royal Park Estate to gather more evidence in relation to Monica Kimani's murder.

Justice James Wakiaga will officially take over the case on Wednesday when Maribe's bail application will be heard.

She is meanwhile remanded at Lang'ata Women prison while her fiance Joseph Irungu is spending two more nights at Industrial Area prison.

The two are accused of instigating Monica's murder with preliminary investigations tracking Irungu to murder scene during the fateful night.

Their neighbour, Brian Kassaine, was released last week after he convinced prosecutors to be key state witness.

During 2017 elections, Maribe was largely associated to State House where she was doing coverage on Jubilee campaigns.
