The latter was sacked through a presidential order in March, this year, and is now saying that all his attempts to find out why he was axed have been futile.

Speaking on Monday, he claimed that Deputy President William Ruto also remains in the dark on why President Uhuru Kenyatta decided to fire and replace him with former Education CS Amina Mohammed.

"Nilifutwa nikaambiwa niende nyumbani lakini hadi saa hii sijui mbona nilifutwa. Nimejaribu kuuliza lakini sitaki kupush sana. Hata naibu wa rais inaonekana hajui mbona (I was fired and sent home but I still don't know why I was sacked. I don't want to push further after trying to get the answers. Even the DP remains in the dark)," he said.

Echesa was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show on Monday morning.

However, he maintained that he remains a supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta and the larger Jubilee party, despite all his woes.

He thanked the president for entrusting him with the slot, adding that it has elevated him politically and gave him the honour.

"I want to thank my party leadership and Uhuru kwa kunipa nafasi hii, out of 45 million people, alinichagua kuwa waziri (he gave me a ministerial position out of 45 million people). I don't take it for granted," he said.
