This is after a wellwisher who had offered to support his secondary education ran out of money.

Kipkosgei did his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams in 2018 and managed to score 362 marks.

He did the class 8 national examinations at AIC Sirgoi Academy in Nandi County where he began his studies from standard four.

After the release of KCPE, he was called to join Tambach High School.

The 17-year-old has hopelessly been living in the streets scavenging for food in rubbish pits at a  dumpsite in Eldoret town market famously known as California.

“I have gotten a letter to join high school this month but I have no hope of making any progress at all,” said Kipkosgei surrounded by fellow street urchins sniffing glue.

Kipkosgei is an orphan, he lost his father in 2009 and the mother followed in 2013. It is after these misfortunes that he was rendered stranded, unable to pay rental fee forcing him to run to Eldoret town.

He met Eucabeth Owino, well-known as ‘mathee’ among the street children for her big heart who dedicated herself to offer assistance to street children and spotted Kipkosgei as a meticulous boy.

“When Kipkosgei was new in this town, he seemed to be yearning to further his education. I linked up with a German sponsor to see him through primary school,” said Owino.

Kipkosgei has now rejoined with the fellow street children waiting for any philanthropic persons to offer him a helping hand to continue with education so as to realize his dream.
