An embattled first-time governor is facing more trouble over his alleged forged academic credentials from the University of Nairobi.
This follows a directive issued by the IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati released on Tuesday.
In a press statement seen by this writer, Wafula Chebukati directed the Office of the DPP, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC) and also the DCI to initiate investigations into the matter to bring the long standing discussions over the issue to a dead end.
In the statement, the chair seemed to distance his poll agency from any blame as raised by lawyer Charles Kanjama, who alleges that another fraudulent file on governor Korane's nomination documents had secretly been sneaked into the IEBC offices after the commencement of investigations into the matter.
“We caution against unfounded statements that are not justifiable and prejudicial to the investigations. The commission calls upon Kanjama and any other persons with any information that may implicate fraud or alteration of documents by IEBC staff to report the same and help with investigations,” read a statement from Chebukati.
