The Migingo issue which has been the subject of discussion over the last few week amid claims of harassment of Kenyan fishermen by Ugandan authorities has seen politicians express their concern wit the manner in which the government in handling the matter.

However, while speaking on Monday during the burial of former Migori Senator Ben Oluoch Okello in Rongo, Orengo said that the issue should now be forwarded to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to make the final decision on the ownership of the controversial island.

According to Orengo, all maps show that the island belongs to Kenya and that it would be wise to let ICJ arbitrate on behalf of the two warring nations.

"All colonial maps show that Migingo belongs to Kenya. I think at this point, the matter should be taken to the International Court of Justice just like it was done to Cameroon and Nigeria when they had a boarder dispute," noted the Senate Minority leader.
