Former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambo has taken a low political profile after his re-election bid flopped in the August 8, 2018, election.
Mutambo has remained silent in the recent month’s raising concerns and speculations on his political whereabouts.
The former vocal MP ditched Wiper in the run-up to 2017 polls and joined Jubilee party.
He has since been a critic of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Before he went silent, Mutambo was quoted saying Kalonzo’s time in politics is over and that he should retire.
The former MP missed in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s list of State jobs awarded to former politicians who lost in the last general elections.
Speculations are now rife to why Mutambo missed in the State appointments that saw his colleagues, former Kitui Senator David Musila and ex- Mbooni MP Kisoi Munyao land State jobs.
According to political analyst Peter Ngure, it will be difficult for Mutambo to make a political comeback in 2022.
“He lost his political ambition when he abandoned Kalonzo Musyoka and his chances of making a comeback are zero,” Ngure said.
