While reacting to plans by politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto to edge out the former Rarieda MP from his position, Kiamba MP Paul Koinange defended the beleaguered Secretary-General, saying that he is loyal to the Uhuru Kenyatta led-party and is a good professional.

" Those people who are talking about removing Tuju from the party are championing 'tumbocracy' ( politics of the stomach) by opposing the implementation of the manifesto, which includes unity and fight against graft," Koinange said.

The lawmaker who is a key supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga dared those who are opposed to Tuju to quit the party and form their own outfit.

The Kiamba lawmaker's comment comes after Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa vowed to kick Tuju out of the Party for allegedly opposing Dr Ruto in his quest to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022.

Jubilee elections which are scheduled for March have already seen the emergence of two rival factions; one supporting the President and the other backing DP Ruto.
