Deputy President William Ruto has launched an attack against Jubilee Party’s Secretary General Raphael Tuju accusing him of working with the opposition.
In a tweet on Sunday, Ruto, who is considered as one of the front runners in the race for Presidency, said that it is interesting to note that the Secretary-General of a ruling party has resorted to working with the opposition.
The second in command noted that Tuju has decided to work as the Chief Strategy of the opposition yet he expects to remain an official in the government.
“So our democracy is so liberal that the SG of the ruling party has become the chief strategist of the opposition!! Maajabu,” he tweeted.
A section of Ruto’s allies has been calling for Tuju’s resignation. The leaders have faulted him for allegedly fueling division within the ruling party.
It all started when audio featuring voices suspected to be those of Tuju and Kiambu politician George Nyanja surfaced online.
Led by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and Kandara Mp- Alice Wahome, Ruto allies have been on Tuju’s neck for a while as they want him kicked out with immediate effect.
“We want you to come out and disown that video, failure to do that we will confirm that the President, his deputy, and members have no issues…the problem is with the party officials…,” said K Cheruiyot, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
