This comes a week after Ruto kicked a storm in the country by claiming that a group of state officers drawn from the Mt Kenya region, have been holding meetings with an intention of eliminating him.

Sang, a close ally of the DP, is now questioning Uhuru's silence on the issue, and wants the leading figures in the group allegedly targeting the DP's life, temporarily pushed out of office.

The county boss wants three of the four Cabinet Secretariers; Peter Munya (Trade) Sicily Kariuki (Health) and Joe Mucheru (ICT) suspended to give room for investigations.

“How will the CSs sit in Cabinet with these kind of allegations? President Kenyatta should honourably suspend them to give room for the matter to be dispensed with,” he said as quoted by Standard.

The fourth CS in the list is James Macharia (Transport), who has also been allegedly attending the meetings at La Mada Hotel, alongside a number of Principal Secretaries and parastatal chiefs from the Mt Kenya region.

Sang's request comes at a time when the cabinet has not held a meeting for three weeks, meetings that should be convened every Thursday.

Similarly, the Jubilee party has not held a parliamentary group meeting since Uhuru's reelection in 2017, which has been blamed for the growing division and emergence of factions in the block.
