Kenya captain, Victor Wanyama has dismissed news of him wanting to ditch English side Tottenham Hotspur for the Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Wanyama instead, said that he was going no where and he is here to stay and concentrate on his training to keep fit ahead of the new season expected to kick off in a fortnight's time.
He added, that he has not spoken to any team, rather he had an active contract with the Spurs.
“I hope to return to training next week. those are merely speculation. I’m going no anywhere; And I have not spoken to any team and I'm committed to help my team next season; for I still have an active contract to honour with the Spurs." - noted Wanyama
The 28 year old who celebrated his birthday weeks ago, was not a regular starter in Spurs' last season campaign, owing to a series of injuries he sustained, a thing that saw him feature only in 13 Premier League matches for his side.
Though, speculation have been rife that the then regular starter, would be allowed to leave due to persistent injury worries that has robbed enough playtime the once key player and continued reports linking him to EPL side, West Ham United and recently Fenerbahce.
In addition, critics have viewed the signing of the French midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, as an alternative to the injury sidelined Victor Wanyama and that the midfielder was likely to be offloaded anytime.
That not withstanding, Wanyama has remained adamant that he is focused to stay fit and help his team ahead of the new season.
