Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has been moved from the Kilimani Police Station to Gigiri Police Station.
The decision was made after intelligence revealed that the outspoken Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislator's supporters were planning to cause chaos at the Kilimani detention centre.
''Intelligence reports reveal that the suspect’s supporters were planning to engage in unlawful activities at Kilimani Police Station, and therefore, we had to take precaution,” an informant told K24.
The MP was arrested on Friday by sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on suspicion of shooting a DJ at the B Club in Nairobi.
DJ Evolve, who sustained a gunshot wound, is undergoing medical treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
Doctors have so far conducted two surgeries on him to remove the bullet lodged in his neck and have said that he is out of danger.
The DCI said that it is piecing together evidence with the view of charging the MP with attempted murder.
Babu Owino's lawyer Cliff Ombeta told members of the press that the former University of Nairobi student leader fired his weapon because he was apprehensive about his life.
