The fire whose cause is not yet determined started at around 6 AM in the morning and the residents tried hard to contain it with no avail.

The boda boda riders left their jobs and went for the water from the rivers, that was used to contain the fire, what proofed hectic and did not bear any fruits. They, therefore, broke into the water pipes which directed the flow of water to the house.

“The fire started at around 6 AM. We were in our daily work when the fire started. Before breaking the water pipes, boda boda riders rushed to the river to bring water with the motorcycles which proofed hectic. Using the water and fire extinguishers, we have managed to contain it a little,” Barnabas Omari a boda boda rider told the writer.

The fire had already consumed properties whose value remains scanty. Two of the Kiosks on the first floor selling mobile phones was completely consumed with the fire and nothing was salvaged.

By the time the writer was writing, the county fire extinguishers had not arrived at the scene, what prompted many share reactions from the residents. The residents condemned Governor Ongwae's administration sporting its laxity.
