The body of 25-year old Alice Atieno was found dead near their home in Kopiyo Village, with the blame landing on her husband Steve Juma Adoyo.

Confirming the incident, area Assistant Chief Margaret Otonde noted that she received information from village elder Martha Okuku of the mutilated body dumped in the bushes.

She added that the incident came shortly after the two reunited at their home, following an initial separation where the deceased left for her parent's home following a domestic disagreement, reports the Citizen Digital.

She said that the suspect later attempted to kill himself by consuming poison, but was rescued by his mother who took him to Homabay County Referral Hospital.

The body of the deceased was taken to the Homabay County Hospital Morgue as police continue searching for the suspect who reportedly went missing from his hospital bed.

This comes only a month after the body of slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno was found dumped in a thicket in Kodera near Oyugis Town, in the same county.
