Mrs. Kenyatta registered for the service at State House after a team of clerks from the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government visited the facility. State House has confirmed her registration.

“First Lady Margaret Kenyatta today led State House staff in registering for the #HudumaNamba. The exercise was conducted at State House, Nairobi by a team of registration clerks from the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government | @InteriorKE,”  read a statement from State House.

On Tuesday last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta launched the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) at Masii Public Grounds in Machakos County where he also registered.

The head of State, who is completing his second and final term in office, urged Kenyans to turn out and register for the service.

He said that the project will ensure better service delivery. Uhuru also said that the new system will help in rooting out ghost workers from the government in a bid to protect public resources from looters.

“Huduma Namba will reduce delays and corruption in the delivery of services such as cash transfers for elderly persons and vulnerable children, issuance of passports and border control,” he said.
