A chief has been found dead at a hotel in Bondo town, Siaya County.
The body belonging to Daniel Tiang' of West Yimbo location was retrieved from a guest house within the town several hours after he checked in on Sunday afternoon.
Confirming the incident, Siaya County Commissioner Michael ole Tialal said his officers have since embarked on investigations in a bid to unravel the possible cause of the death.
According to one of the deceased's relatives, Leakey Abuoro, the administrator was found lifeless with blood and foam oozing from his mouth.
Abuoro said the family is suspecting possible poisoning as the reason.
"We highly suspect he was poisoned,” Leakey said as quoted by the Standard on Tuesday December 25.
A source from the hotel said the deceased was worried about his heath while checking in, stating that he wanted to rest since he was not feeling well.
The guesthouse attendants would later grow suspicious when he spent a suspiciously long time inside his room without coming out.
They then moved in only to found him dead, before calling in the police.
Police have since launched investigations into the deceased's death.
