The good news is that it is very easy to replace it.

Here is the procedure of replacing a lost certificate

You will be required to fill the KNEC replacement certificate form. You can download the form from their website or get it from KNEC archives and record office

Ensure that you have filled in the required details and you will then have to attach various documents to accompany the form.

 Here are the documents

1. A copy of your result slip or certificate

2. A recommendation letter from the head teacher/principal of the school attended. For private candidates whose schools were closed down, they can obtain the letter from County Education Officer or sub-county Education Officer

3. Identity of applicant ( Sworn legal affidavit)

4. A recommendation letter from employer addressing to KNEC (an original letter)

5. Police Abstract indicating loss of the certificate.

6. Copy of identification card/passport or birth certificate for those that are underage. The name of the ID and birth certificate including date of birth must tally with those used during the examination.

In the case of those who changed their names legally, they must attach their documents like the marriage certificate to act as proof.

7. Don't forget to attach an original KNEC bank deposit slip.

Note that the fees required for the replacement of the certificate is Sh5800 and is paid to the KNEC bank account
