Kalonzo in his New Year message anticipated great opportunities and transformation for Kenyans.

“2018 was dominated by the spirit of the handshake, but 2019 promises to be a year of great opportunity and transformation,” the Kamba political kingpin said.

Kalonzo in his message hinted on a likelihood of referendum.

He said the Building Bridges Committee that came into existence after the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga is expected to give its report this year.

Kalonzo proposed the formation of a technical team to deal with the specific question of a referendum.

The former Vice President urged Kenyans to come out in full strength to participate in the anticipated national census set for August 2019.

Kalonzo is among the top politicians who have declared their interests in the 2022 presidential election.

The Wiper leader has maintained that he has what it takes to succeed President Kenyatta in 2022.

He is banking on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which he signed with Raila in 2017 under the National Super Alliance (NASA) to be president in the next polls.
