The MP says the move is meant to enhance hygiene in schools and the markets subsequently reducing cases of diseases that are caused by poor sanitation.

According to Mishra, the bio-toilets requires the use of less water.

"We will start with 200 bio-toilets where it will be distributed to 50 clusters in the whole constituency," said the MP when he presided over the issuance of National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) cheques for bursaries and school development projects worth over Sh36 million.

“We need 80 million for this project and we're raising the funds through sponsors like Unilever, Coca-Cola and different banks among others,” he added.

Mishra further urged beneficiaries of the NG-CDF support to use the money in a transparent manner and avoid embezzlement.

He also reiterated that he is committed to ensuring prudent, credible and transparent distribution of public funds under his stewardship as the MP.
